Injection moulding is one of the most commonly-used moulding techniques for plastic parts. It is an impressive and creative process in which an injection moulding machine and injection mould transform thermoplastics into any desired shape. Injection moulding is often used to produce product components. These, along with all the other parts required, are then assembled to create a final product.

We, Wicro Group, are a renowned European injection moulding company. We serve our partners in the Netherlands and beyond from our base in Kessel, in Limburg. As an injection moulding company, we’re always actively involved in the creation of the final product, which means that we don’t limit ourselves to plastic injection moulding. What is injection moulding?

With 76 fully automated injection moulding machines with a clamping force of 50 – 1150 tonnes, a closed conveyor system and our own tool shop, we’re able to process (almost) all thermoplastics in our injection moulding plant. Technical semi-finished products with tight tolerances, complex design and good dimensional stability, and also visually appealing products requiring high standards in terms of colour, gloss and surface texture. Injection mould and tool repairs and maintenance? We carry them out ourselves, which makes us just that little bit faster. We’re much more than just an injection moulding company.

Project management

PHASE 1: QUOTATION

We maintain close contact during this initial step. It’s important to take a good inventory in order to determine which product components are required. We review the plastics needed and select suppliers for other components.

PHASE 2: ASSIGNMENT

You’re happy with the quote and have signed off on it. Our project manager then receives the assignment and everyone’s at the starting blocks ready to begin work on designing your project. The required samples have already been ordered and together we draw up an action list.

PHASE 3: PLANNING

We then create a plan based on the action list. This is a detailed project plan that our project manager tackles with a structured approach. In this phase, all elements and aspects of the project flow together into a cohesive whole.

PHASE 4: PROTOTYPE

Now the fun really starts, because in the prototype phase we work on development. All the components – which we’ve worked on intensively together in previous phases – come together. From mould to master batches and other purchased parts.

FASE 5: PILOT

In the pilot phase the product really takes shape – both literally and figuratively. Testing, optimising and refining… everything comes together, and is assembled into a complete, fully-fledged product. Happy times!

PHASE 6: LAUNCH

Are you satisfied, or even delighted? Then we press the big green button and launch the product together. Mass production can begin, and your product is ready to go on the market. Congratulations!
