Additive manufacturing

At Wicro Group, we look beyond production alone. We think in smart, functional plastic solutions. That’s why, alongside injection molding, we also offer additive manufacturing — supported by advanced additive manufacturing 3D printers and experienced engineers.

Whether it’s rapid prototyping, functional parts or low volume production, we guide the entire process. From the initial idea to a product that’s ready for the next step.

What is additive manufacturing?

Additive manufacturing enables plastic parts to be built layer by layer, without the need for tooling. This provides full design freedom and allows you to move quickly during product development.

In practice, this means faster validation of designs, easy adjustments and short lead times for functional parts. This makes additive manufacturing particularly suitable for development processes where speed and flexibility are key. Within just a few working days, we deliver parts that are ready for testing, assembly or presentation.

The right technology for your application

Every application requires a different approach. That’s why we work with multiple technologies, allowing us to find the right balance between quality, strength and cost. Our additive manufacturing engineers determine the most suitable technology for each project, based on your product and application.
FDM / FFF (filament printing)
Suitable for functional prototypes and engineering parts. Ideal for fast iterations and small series.
MJF (Multi Jet Fusion)
A powder-based technology for strong, dimensionally accurate parts with consistent quality. Highly suitable for series production.
SLA / Resin printing
Used for applications where detail and surface quality are critical, such as visual models or high-precision components.

Material selection as the foundation

A successful printed part starts with the right material. That’s why we work with a wide range of plastics — from standard materials to high-performance polymers.

  • Standard materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG en TPU
  • Engineering materials with glas or carbon reinforcement
  • High-performance materials such as PA12, PEEK en ULTEM

For every project, we consider factors such as mechanical load, temperature, chemical exposure and aesthetics. With over 75 years of experience in plastics, we ensure that each part is not only manufacturable, but also performs as intended.

From print to end product in your industry

At Wicro Group, additive manufacturing doesn’t stop at printing. Through professional post-processing — such as surface modification, coatings and sealing — we ensure that parts are ready for real-world applications. Think of vapor smoothing for a refined surface finish or epoxy sealing for water resistance.

This approach is applied across industries such as high-tech, machine building, automotive, defense, maritime and medical. In these sectors, reliability and repeatability are essential. From prototype to end product, we deliver solutions that perform and scale towards series production.

Additive manufacturing combineren met spuitgieten?

At Wicro Group, we combine additive manufacturing and injection molding into one integrated approach. This allows you to benefit from the flexibility of 3D printing as well as the scalability of serial production. Where additive manufacturing excels in speed and design freedom, injection molding ensures efficiency and consistent quality at higher volumes. By offering both technologies in-house, we can objectively determine the best route for your product.
Speed
Validate designs quickly with functional parts, often available within just a few working days.
Efficiency
Optimize your product in every phase. Our additive manufacturing engineers assess form, function and manufacturability.
Simplicity
Move from prototype to injection molding without loss of data or unnecessary handovers. One partner managing the full process.
Continuity
From initial concept to series production, you stay in control. One point of contact, with expertise in both technologies.
