Neptunus Structures is an internationally leading player in demountable buildings and event tents. For many years, they used only wooden stacking blocks at their construction and assembly sites for tents. Practical in use, but less ideal in reality: sensitive to weather conditions, frequently needing replacement, and never exactly the same size. That could be smarter, stronger, and more sustainable!<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Sustainable plastic stacking blocks with maximum load capacity<\/h2>\r\n\r\n \r\n

The challenge was clear: how do we create a stacking block that can withstand intensive use and all weather conditions, without compromising on strength and load capacity?<\/p>\n

The design proved to be essential. A solid plastic block would be unnecessarily heavy, expensive, and material-intensive. That\u2019s why we opted for a smartly engineered design with ribbing: an internal structure that delivers maximum strength while using minimal material.<\/p>\n

In close collaboration with Neptunus Structures, we explored the optimal material combination to guarantee strength, stiffness, and durability. Every detail \u2014 from wall thickness to rib structure \u2014 was carefully calculated to ensure the product can easily withstand the substantial forces generated by tent structures.<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n

The most technically challenging part? In tent construction, there are clear guidelines for wood \u2014 but not for plastics. This meant that all strength calculations had to be extremely precise and fully substantiated.<\/p>\n

Together with Neptunus Structures, we went through the entire process: design, engineering, testing, and optimization, strictly following the Stage-Gate model to ensure that no risk was overlooked. Thanks to this careful approach, Neptunus Structures could move forward to production and practical use with confidence.<\/p>\n
